Experience & Qualifications:

Develop Products and Firmware Testing  

·  Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products that meet or exceed the requirements of the technical spec matrix; including, but not limited to: Performance, Endurance, Capacity, Functionality, and Quality / Reliability

·  Develop a firmware functional integration test capability that insures the firmware subsystem meets the quality, functional, and performance requirements required at each integration milestone in the product development lifecycle


Develop Technologies and Processes

 ·  Develop and deliver for integration a Secuirty subsystem that is extensible and scalable across multiple SSD market segment and is capable of providing BIC product capability (functionality, quality, reliability, performance, and supportability)

 ·  Develop and deliver a functional integrity test process that is capable of continuous improving pre-integration firmware quality, while reducing test time, and maintaining test cost

 ·  Develop and deliver a cross-site firmware development process that is capable continuously improving firmware quality while reducing firmware development cost.


Oversee Budgets and Communication

Provide a budget expense, capital, and headcount plan and future looking models that insure product roadmaps can be achieved

 ·  Implement necessary processes and capabilities to ensure the budget plan is achieved and / or deviations are forecasted in advance

 ·  Proactively provide to Management, cross-functional team members, and the firmware team consistent, detailed, and properly summarized information regarding activities within the firmware development organization and status of firmware development projects.


Develop People

Develop and maintain collaborative, transparent, and constructive relationships with peers and management

 ·  Provide the tools, training, work environment, and leadership that continuously improves team involvement, morale, and productivity

 ·  Provide the tools, training, and leadership that continuously increase the skill and leadership characteristics of managers in the organization.

·  Develop high potential managers into succession candidates

·  Work to continuously improve leadership, management, and communication skills.



  • Managing a team of Security FW developers
  • Influence at an executive level on key security strategies including technology development, assessment of current and future capabilities.
  • Provide overall people-care management and leadership for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development, resulting in confidence and alignment on decisions and strategies.


Education & Experience Requirements

  • This positions requires 10+ years industry experience. 3+ years in SSD development experience preferred, and previous people management experience.
  • Strong technical background in Security FW.
  • Experience of the storage industry, in SSD, HDD, storage systems or a related technology
  • Understating of Trusted Computing Group protocols, OPAL and Enterprise specifications for a storage device.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and ability to influence across and up/down in a highly matrixed organization.       
  • In depth experience of software and firmware development methodologies
  • Experience in project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Experience of working in a sophisticated technology company.
