We are changing the way Micron Technology, Inc. thinks about employee productivity and collaboration as we are looking for an experienced Unified Communications and Collaboration Senior IT Manager to help lead the transformation of employee productivity at Micron on a global scale.  We want someone with demonstrated ability to attract, hire and retain top talent and a deep technical understanding of end user platforms, operational service management, problem management and resolution, UX design, unified communications, collaboration and mobile technologies.  Your primary responsibilities will be to grow, develop and lead people developing UCC and employee productivity solutions and capabilities.  A successful candidate is results orientated and accountable, business focused, collaborative and enjoys solving tough business and technology problems. You should be able to drive highly innovative solutions and be obsessive about the user experience, ease of use, and operational repeatability and reliability.


This position will be in Boise, Idaho where you will be working in a fast-paced, iterative environment that also affords the stability of a global, established and competitive technology company. You will work with business stakeholders to help define solution strategies, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and create best of breed solution experiences that will set the standard for global employee productivity and collaboration.  You should be familiar with enterprise and consumer technologies and can dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Define, execute, and manage a global Unified Communications and Collaboration strategy and team as part of Micron global Workplace IT organization.  This will include, but not limited to the following technology areas – Voice (Avaya & Skype for Business) Conference Room Collaboration (Polycom), Messaging (Exchange & Skype for Business), Desktop Video (Skype for Business), Printing (Secure Print).     
  • Manage end-to-end service operations for assigned areas and global portfolio delivery in terms of schedule, cost, scope and quality
  • Anticipate risks and issues that may arise during the delivery and ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are in place
  • Act as a change agent, seeking opportunities to challenge the status quo to meet business objectives at the pace of business
  • Bring a strong technical foundation; can engage the team on architecture and design and deep-dive on complex solutions and platforms
  • Manage and deliver technologies that enable Micron workers to be productive and collaborative
  • Promote digital literacy through self-service, self-learning, and intuitive user design
  • Facilitate a seamless “work from anywhere” experience
  • Collaborate with global business stakeholders and technical partners to develop and execute product roadmaps
  • Balance cost against high standards in terms of efficiency, quality and performance of solutions
  • Partner with peers to identify opportunities for solutions development, common services, joint development and reduced redundancy
  • Maintain current knowledge of employee productivity and enterprise collaboration trends to ensure Micron is leveraging new techniques while aligning with internal standards
  • Market the availability of products and services and ensure that users know what technologies are available
  • Plan and execute to an approved budget
  • Demonstrate accountability; lead people with passion, enthusiasm, loyalty and integrity
  • Manage HR processes such as: Employee engagement, performance reviews, talent development
  • Drive the solution investment strategy and identify opportunities to support business needs with mobile solutions
  • Engage in resourcing processes to ensure organizational agility
  • Design, measure and assess key performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions
  • Manage and deliver to all compliance and security controls


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ in IT solution delivery that includes experience as a strong technical leader
  • Ability to provide vision and execution to align with a strategic plan
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal)
  • Capable of leading technology change with excellent strategic and technical thought leadership
  • Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization and negotiation
  • Ability to retain and engage top talent with technical skills alongside design sensibility and user experience improvement
  • Passion and accountability to lead others to excellence
  • Successful in building high-performance, self-managing teams



B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, telecommunications, other technical disciplines or equivalent work experience.  ITIL certification is a plus.
