Simply put, we need a more digitally fit work force. To do that, we need a variety of engaging, easy-to-follow resources to help people get the most from these new technologies.


The IT department at Micron is looking for a forward-thinking creative to join our IT Technical Communication and Learning Services (ITTCLS) team as a Content Design Specialist. The bulk of the work will be generating content in a variety of media—presentations, videos, photos, brochures, infographics, e-learning, illustrations, and visual identities—to ensure Micron team members are aware of and know how to use available IT products and services.

The Content Design Specialist will report to the ITTCLS Manager and will have direct and regular contact with a variety of Micron personalities to make our internally used technologies more approachable and consumable. One day may be spent interviewing an IT operations manager to get some basic questions answered, and the next may be spent determining the right mix of media to help a particular audience use collaboration tools more effectively or creating a one-page infographic to help users set up their mobile device to get work email while they are traveling.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, manage multiple activities at once, set priorities, and pivot to new tasks quickly. Creativity and an eye for clean design are non-negotiable requirements. Candidates should also be comfortable interacting with a diverse cast of characters—from long-time leaders to talented, but not-so-easy-to-understand software engineers.

Responsibilities and requirements

  • Advise and consult with subject matter experts in the design, development, and implementation of media solutions that support and promote more effective use of available technologies.
  • Design and produce internal media solutions to inform team members about and engage them with available technologies. Media solutions may include, but are not limited to, presentations, videos, photos, brochures, infographics, e-learning, illustrations, and visual identities.
  • Become familiar with and align to Micron’s brand guidelines. Establish project-specific ‘brands’ and carry those through multiple deliverables (i.e., web, presentation, email, etc.).
  • Create standard operating procedures in contribution to a center of excellence that allows more self-service for communication and learning activities.
  • Collaborate with organizational change specialists, communication specialists, training analysts, and other creatives in support of IT projects and other initiatives.
  • Familiarity with standard software (i.e., Microsoft Office, etc.) is a must and experience with multimedia development tools like the Adobe suite, Camtasia, Snagit, etc is preferred.
  • Experience in leveraging Adult Learning methodologies such as ADDIE
