As a Fab 4 Manufacturing Development Engineering (MDE) Diffusion/Implant Process Owner at Micron you will direct and sustain efforts for process yield and performance for the Diffusion/Implant area. You will troubleshoot yield issues related to assigned modules, as well as develop improvement plans for yield, utilization, and processes for assigned modules. Additionally, you will create, implement, analyze, and summarize special work requests (SWRs) and project data for assigned modules.

The Process Owner will assist in bridging the gap between the Process Integration (PI) team, Process Development Engineering (PDE) team, and the Manufacturing Development Engineer (MDE) shift team to assure all process changes and area improvements are implemented and coordinated. Your responsibilities will include the transfer of processes to the pilot line as well as supporting technology transfers to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) sites. You will assist MDE shift engineering to support immature processes. Additionally, this role will support and help sustain the pilot line through daily interaction with shift teams by providing continuity for issues that bridge shifts and ends of the week.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain area/module development as well as solve any ongoing process issues.
  • Use analytics to improve area practices, efficiencies and procedures.
  • Investigate area practices and drive improvements.
  • Qualify additional tools for redundancy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and support groups to understand process requirements.
  • Maximize yield/reliability performance and device requirements.
  • Manage projects and implement actions that will drive improvements across the area (recipe management, process and tool quals, scrap, etc.).
  • Provide support for technology transfers from MDE to HVM Fabs.

     

    Qualifications:

    Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Current job role in an engineering position.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry (Diffusion or Implant experience is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of probe, parametrics, and device theory.
  • Ability to serve as a point of contact for engineering and production.
  • Successful decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in teams and on tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to drive solutions.
  • Understanding of DOE, SPC, and other analytical tools.
  • Understanding of the most current process technologies, flows, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of E3, R2R, and FDC software (preferred).
  • Experience with GeRM, Klarity, Yield3, Data Navigator, SPACE, ETI, Sigma, JMP, and M.S. Office.
  • Self-motivated with a good work ethic and time management skills in order to facilitate unsupervised and productive work.

     

    Education:

    B.S. in engineering or related field is required or equivalent Micron experience.
