Director, Global HR Workforce Analytics

If so, you may be a fantastic candidate for our Director of Global HR Workforce Analytics position at Micron Technology, Inc., a global, Fortune 200 leader in the semiconductor industry based in Boise, Idaho.


In this role, you will:

  • Research and apply methods for conveying and visualizing strategic people data insights to senior managers and executives, enabling an understanding of complex problems and accelerating decision making
  • Provide easy and intuitive access to workforce data and analytics to executives, HR business partners and program owners
  • Regularly demonstrate your outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to distill complex statistical models and algorithms into easy to understand conclusions in a thoughtful and collaborative manner
  • In highly sensitive situations, perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in an intuitive and clear manner
  • Ensure appropriate security regulations around the handling and storage of personally identifiable information or other sensitive personal information
  • Serve as the primary advocate and subject matter expert on workforce related analysis and predictive modeling to meet Micron’s evolving business needs
  • Educate decision makers and HR business partners on the strategic benefits of data science and advanced analytics
  • Stay current (personally and through development of your team) with data science and appropriate tools, technologies, and visualization techniques


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Utilize data science practices to identify, quantify, and solve high value business problems with a people strategy component
  • Manage projects that maximize the value produced from workforce analysis and advanced model development
  • Encourage the team to drive innovation helping solve business problems
  • Inspire, lead, and mentor your team members for their development and ensuring accountability to both results and behaviors


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of key HR concepts and practices (engagement, retention, performance, compensation, talent acquisition)
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional regional and global projects of significant scope, complexity, and of a highly sensitive nature.
  • Knowledge and experience with R, Shiny, NLP/Text Analytics, SQL, GGplot, Excel, and other data science, modeling, and visualization tools.
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning and statistical approaches such as K-NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees, regression, distributions, and statistical testing.
  • Due to the nature of the work within the organization, very short notice domestic and international travel may be required.
  • With international activities, conference calls in the early morning or late evenings are a normal course of business.  Flexibility on both your part and the company’s is expected.
  • Many activities within your organization are highly sensitive in nature and will require discretion.
  • The nature of this role will periodically deem you as an Insider and will limit you from trading Company stock.



  • BS in HR, Finance, General Business, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or Computer Science
  • Masters level degree in Data Science is preferred. Other relevant masters level degrees (Statistics, Computer Science, I-O Psychology, or MBA) considered.
