Compute & Networking Business Unit Financial Manager

As Compute & Networking Business Unit (CNBU) Finance Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the overall management of financial and management reporting for your CNBU. This will include analyzing performance to plan, providing data and information, and making recommendations to the General Manager and their staff. Your role will require you to maximize the Business Unit bottom line by performing financial analyses of product alternatives and maintaining product roadmaps. You may be responsible for providing your expertise with regard to investment acquisition and divestiture opportunities. You will also be responsible for the management of your team through performance development and creating an environment of continuous improvement.


Responsibilities and tasks:


Manage Profit and Loss for the Division

  • Analyze performance to plan
  • Consolidate data outputs and interpret into meaningful and actionable information
  • Communicate outcomes and recommendations to Finance and Operations management and executive teams
  • Build forecasts through collaboration with marketing, Sales, engineering, Operations and Manufacturing
  • Manage the financial impacts of inventory to support customer demand and increase working capital, while limiting exposure to obsolescence


Maximize Business Unit Bottom Line

  • Perform financial analysis of product alternatives (ROI, NPV, Zero Based Budgets)
  • Establish and maintain product roadmaps
  • Analyze Business investment acquisition/divestiture opportunities
  • Analyze risks and make final decisions


Provide Consultation to Internal and External Stakeholders

  • Provide financial data to Marketing and Pricing teams to ensure profitable and competitive pricing
  • Update stakeholders on current manufacturing costs
  • Establish business networks to maintain knowledge of company / business unit activities and impacts
  • Perform ad hoc support of Operations / Finance team initiatives
  • Provide mentoring to internal and external stakeholders as needed


Manage Performance and Development of Team Members

  • Prioritize issues and projects
  • Identify strengths and create specific development plan according to evaluated need
  • Allocate resources to meet timelines and deliverables within the group
  • Provide required resources to enable team member success
  • Establish goals and conduct performance appraisals
  • Coach and provide career development
  • Coordinate systems and process training opportunities
  • Provide recognition and drive accountability
  • Foster environment of continual improvement
  • Identify headcount needs and make hiring decisions



  • 7+ years relevant work history
  • People management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling strong business partnerships
  • Ability to work effectively with all internal and external counterparts
  • Ability to recognize conflict situations, facilitate problem resolution and alert management when necessary
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and bring cohesive direction to the organization
  • Ability to deal with change and shifting demands within the business environment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections
  • Knowledge of TM1 and other Finance systems
