Business Development Manager for the Client Segment


Job Description

 

A Business Development Manager at Micron, is responsible for inbound and outbound marketing activities in the Personal Computing segment. In this position, the individual will analyze segment and marketing data, as well as analyze, track, and develop strategies for Micron to further penetrate Client customers.  Individual can also expect to interact with internal groups to ensure the right products and support for the segments and evaluate opportunities for new products.  The Business Development Manager works directly with customers, sales and field teams to implement the plans to successfully grow the business profitably of Client segment.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop Client segment strategy in alignment with the Business Unit and Micron strategy
  • Drive and advocate segment and customer needs within Micron and create solutions or business models to fulfill these needs.
  • Set strategic direction to enable PC OEMs & channels for Client memory solutions.
  • Develop and drive Business Plan strategic goals and initiatives for the segment.
  • Create, maintain market models for TAM, SOM and long term forecasting.
  • Initiate and manage segment specific programs to improve customer satisfaction and business interaction.
  • Work with program managers enabling logic suppliers to ensure Micron has the right portfolio and is designed into relevant platforms prior to adoption from key Client customers.
  • Establish strong relationships to key customer contacts.
  • Actively contribute to product definition process of Micron.

 

Successful candidates for this position will have:

 

  • Good customer presence and excellent presentation skills.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze marketing and industry data.
  • Good customer-service skills.
  • The ability to drive and manage marketing and internal projects.
  • The ability to be a self-starter.
  • A detail-oriented personality, with the ability to track segment progress over time.
  • A good understanding of PC application ecosystem including enablers, OEMs and channels.
  • A background in marketing/Sales and/or project management, with more than 5 years of experience (preferred).
  • The ability and willingness to travel, sometimes internationally, up to 20 percent of the time.
  • BS degree or equivalent engineering degree.
