We are seeking an API security engineer to join our Enterprise Information Security team working shoulder-to-shoulder with Micron's IT and Business partners to help develop our API security strategy, serve as the security API subject matter expert across business and IT stakeholders, develop features and functionality, and facilitate implementation among API consumers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to determine how secure APIs can enhance business capabilities; attain a strong understanding of business priorities and data needs
  • Roadmap API security strategy and enhancements for a given business capability
  • Manage and prioritize a backlog of work, and coordinates with API engineers and development teams to develop new secure API capabilities
  • Coordinate API releases across stakeholders to ensure high-quality and timely delivery
  • Act as an API security subject matter expert, ensuring APIs are used effectively
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders for questions regarding API use, optimization, and adoption
  • Facilitate and assist with secure API implementation to integrate software products and services
  • Promote secure API development and implementation best practices
  • Maintain API quality by adhering to established quality standards, and resolving defects and bugs both during development and post-release
  • Serve as point of contact for API consumers with questions or technical issues
  • Assists in planning and design of new systems to take advantage of secure API capabilities

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills; can communicate effectively with business and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of user experience and data integration
  • Ability to understand business and security strategy and translate it into technical solutions
  • Attention to detail, combined with the ability to comprehend the big picture
  • Experience writing unit and system tests
  • Experience with source control and release management systems
  • Understanding of solution architecture and data integration
  • Knowledge of development languages (e.g., C#, C++, PowerShell, .NET, RESTful web services, Linux – RHEL 3,5,7, Perl, Python, Unix shell scripting)
  • Knowledge of databases (e.g. SQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS, OAuth, OpenID Connect
  • Knowledge of agile concepts and development

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Five or more years of software development experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience building, consuming, and supporting
