R&D DRAM CMOS Device Integration Engineer

As a Device Integration Engineer in DRAM R&D at Micron, you will be responsible for projects identified as critical for Micron’s DRAM device development roadmap.  The Device engineer in this position will contribute to the planning of CMOS requirements, developing, maintaining, and improving CMOS performance for advanced DRAM projects, including design rules pertaining to CMOS. This position will require significant interaction with device simulation groups, device modeling group, design engineering, device characterization and reliability groups. You will be expected to evaluate and implement creative solutions which improve performance, yield, reliability and reduce cost.  Optimization of existing process flows for cost reduction and improved manufacturability is also the responsibility of the Device Integration Engineer.  Additionally, you will be responsible for aligning the CMOS process flows with the DRAM process flow, current and future Fab tooling, optimizing cost reduction, and enabling a smooth transfer from R&D into manufacturing facilities worldwide.


Successful candidates for this position will have: 

  • 2 years of process integration, CMOS module development, CMOS Device Simulation, or related experience which required a similar skill set and level of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the structure and function of the state of art CMOS technologies, electrical characterization techniques, and Design of Experiments.
  • A thorough understanding of Semiconductor Processing and Process Capabilities (Etch, Lithography, CVD, Diffusion, CMP).
  • A thorough understanding of the following: Semiconductor Device Physics including CMOS and Bipolar transistors, diodes, etc.
  • Device development and scaling experience.  Experience within vertical CMOS, FINFETS and HikMG is a plus
  • The ability to understand impact of process variables on device performance (a strong plus).
  • A thorough understanding of factors and variable affecting various device performance and reliability parameters such as Vt, Ids, Ioff, GIDL, DIBL, CHC, NBTI, TDDB.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Experience with evaluation and analysis of In-line, Probe, Param and Back End Data to improve yield.
  • Knowledge of Test Structure Design.
  • The ability to work well in a multi-disciplined team environment. 
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and presentation skills to coordinate work across multiple groups.
  • The ability to aggressively execute complex process experiments and focus on solving problems either as part of a team or individually.
  • The ability to be dependable and willing to take primary responsibility for the development of a process module.  
  • A willingness to take on new tasks, investigate and research literature when needed, and propose solutions based on experiments and results obtained.   


MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
